My name is Danielle and I’m a first time mum to my 10 month old baby boy George. I have quite a busy lifestyle as, aside from being a mum, I am a specialist nurse working in a busy Emergency Department. I live in Merseyside, in the northwest of England.
Initial Impressions
The car seat was well packaged and ready to use straight out of the box with no assembly required. The seat has a very sleek cushioned design while still providing plenty of room, so my son seemed very comfortable and content. Installation was simple, with one hand, and a quick click into the ISOFIX points of the car, with indicators showing green when the seat has locked into place correctly.
Comfort and Ease of Use
The adjustable head rest has been a big seller for me as my baby is quite tall, allowing him to sit comfortably with good support.
The seat feels of good quality, with an easy to wipe material that has required little effort to wipe away any marks or minor spillages. For anything more tough, the seat material can be removed and washed which is great with messy little ones!
Lifting my baby in/out of the car was very quick and easy due to the carry handle and quick release button for the ISOFIX, allowing my child to remain in the seat when transferring from the car to the house and vice versa.
Safety Features
The seat overall feels very sturdy, while remaining relatively light at 4.7kg. Once fitted into the ISOFIX, the seat feels very secure, but is still very quick and easy to install and remove.
The shoulder pads on the harness feel very comfortable, without being big and bulky, protecting baby from friction of the straps. The straps are simple to adjust, using the button situated at the bottom of the seat.
My baby did feel secure once strapped into the seat, but I feel for optimum safety it would have been nice for the seat to have a 5 point harness as opposed to 3 point.
Value for Money
While the seat is on the higher end of the price scale compared to similar seats on the market, the features of the carry handle, adjustable head rest and built in ISOFIX make the seat a worth while investment if you are willing to pay that little extra.
Final Thoughts
Overall, I really liked this car seat. The carry handle feature being a big pro for me personally. I would recommend sprint to those looking for a seat with ISOFIX compatibility, without the need for a base, and meets current safety standards.
